About the Recipe
Chocolate chip cookies originated in the United States around 1938, when Ruth Graves Wakefield chopped up a Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bar and added the chopped chocolate to a cookie recipe.
Here is the best chocolate chip cookies recipe ever! No funny ingredients, just a simple, straightforward, amazingly delicious, doughy yet still fully cooked, chocolate chip cookie that turns out perfectly every single time!
Ingredients
113 gr unsalted butter, room temp
75 gr light brown sugar
30 gr sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
Pinch of salt
125 gr flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
100 gr semi-sweet or dark chocolate bar, roughly chopped
Preparation
1. In a small saucepan, melt butter and continue to cook until brown particles start to appear at the bottom of the pan. Remove from the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, whisk brown butter, brown sugar, and sugar, with a spatula or a hand mixer until fully combined. Add egg and vanilla, and whisk to combine. Sift salt, flour, and baking soda. Mix to combine. Add chocolate chunks, and fold them into the cookie dough with a spatula. Cover the bowl with cling film, and leave it to chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper. Using an ice cream scoop, divide the dough into 10-12 cookie dough balls. Optionally, top with sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Leave them to cool.
